Sonoma—undoubtedly one of the best places on earth to live. So it was a tough decision for Carol and Sam Morphy to head east in search of a New Haven style pizza that would be the star of the Sonoma eatery they dreamed of opening.
The Morphy’s toured, tasted, and tinkered before coming home with their very own secret recipe to open The Red Grape just off Sonoma’s historic plaza fifteen years ago. That same pizza crust—thin, crispy crusts high-fired in a stone-lined pizza oven— became the tasty foundation they continue to build on in more ways than one.
Now guests can enjoy pizzas topped with the freshest ingredients sourced from the finest purveyors, or savor fresh, locally made pasta and a veritable, gardenful of gourmet salads.
Of course, the “red grape”—the sweet little tomato that graces many of the dishes—is not the only “grape” you’ll find here! The Red Grape’s wine list features the best of Sonoma Valley’s award-winning vintages for the perfect accompaniment to your meal.
All this goodness is served in an inviting eatery, inside or out on the beautiful patio, by our wonderfully accommodating staff of both family and friends.
“We appreciate all our guests who have helped make The Red Grape a success and, in doing so, have also made it possible for us to give back to the community we love. So we hope you’ll stop by and discover what Sonomans already know: great food, great wine and great people are what the good life is about. Bon Appetit!”
